There’s a time all of us must choose to Go Beyond. It’s always scary to walk uncharted territory, but the results are always worth it. Jesus’ time to go way Beyond was the cross and we still haven’t gotten over it! We as Christ followers will never get over it! The timing is now for our church.
There’s a place all of us are called to Go Beyond. Jesus’ last words told us to GO to our towns, CONNECT with our cultures, and LEAD people to a life changing relationship with Him. I’ve never been more excited as God has called us to Go Beyond these four walls and become one church meeting in multiple locations in Athens, and Beyond.
There’s a reason we must Go Beyond in life. For us, it’s simple. Our passion is people! People matter! Everyone counts! And, we will never lay eyes on someone that Jesus didn’t die for.
Compass – it’s time to take the next step to connect with people and lead them to Jesus by Going Beyond anything we’ve ever imagined our church could be. The direction has been set
and we’re inviting you to get on board. Over the next 2 years, we will go beyond these four walls and we will turn Athens and northeast Georgia upside down to make Jesus famous.
It’s our time...
It's our town...
It's our Passion!
My challenge to you is this...Be Dangerous and Go For it!
Go Beyond,

When God speaks, our job is to step accordingly.
In 2000, as Jim sat in the Beechwood parking lot, God gave him the first of many plans to reach Athens and Beyond. That original vision has remained constant for the past 8 years - to connect with people and lead them to Jesus. In God’s crazy timing, He has spoken again and now revealed the next steps of our strategy to accomplish this God sized vision. It’s time to bust out and Go Beyond these four walls. God has asked us to become one church meeting in 6 different locations...our current campus; 2 new locations, one in Downtown Athens and a second in Oconee County; and current campuses in Bend, Oregon; Los Brasilles, Nicaragua; and Poznan, Poland.

Compass Oconee
The Oconee campus will be the first of many campuses across northeast Georgia.
• We will meet in a temporary facility in Oconee County and hope to announce a location during the Beyond series.
• This location will expand our influence to potentially connect thousands of people to Jesus in Barrow and Walton counties as well.
• This campus will include the best day of your child’s week, the Compass KidGrow experience.

Downtown Athens
Not only are children and students our future, but the college and 20Somethings of today are the leaders of tomorrow. Over the past year, God has blessed us with a rapidly growing number of college and 20Somethings. Going Downtown allows us to raise up the most passionate generation of Christ-Followers, skilled musicians, and church leaders the church has ever known. this location will meet on Sunday evenings with no children’s environments.
Compass Current Location
Beyond will position our current campus for continued growth in Madison and Clarke counties and beyond. Key priorities include:
•Equipping our rapidly growing 706 student ministry (now drawing from 6 counties and 14 different middle and high schools) with state-of-the-art audio, video, and lighting, gaming, small group spaces and more.
•Taking our KidGrow experience Beyond with the necessary media equipment and ministry tools.
•Providing needed exterior renovations to our current campus to upgrade our curb-side appeal for maximum ministry impact.
•Implementing needed technology/media upgrades to enhance our Sunday experience for all guests and members.
Athens and Beyond
Beyond means resourcing and expanding our current outreach partnerships to focus on poverty, AI
DS, housing, and spiritual needs locally and internationally. Over the past 5 years, we’ve been personally impacted through on-site mission trips and seen hundreds of lives changed through church plants in Bend, Oregon (Drew and Kathy Price); Poznan,
Poland (Tomek & Damaris Otremba); and Los Brasilles, Nicaragua (Fernando and Elizabeth Roa).
Goal: 5% of every dollar contributed to Beyond will be given to these specific outreaches and church plants.

Why do we need to go beyond these four walls? Why do we need to open two new locations in Oconee and Downtown? Quite simply, Beyond is all about our passion for people and what we are willing to do about it.

On Sunday, December 14th, we will come together for an amazing worship experience to celebrate
and commit to everything that God is going to do in and through us during Beyond. We are asking everyone who calls Compass home to participate in the following ways:
Step 1: PRAY
Begin today to dangerously seek God through prayer like never before. Ask Him to use Beyond to shape you to become more like Jesus, to show us what surrender and sacrifice should look like in our lives, and allow us to see His vision to impact the world through Compass by going beyond these four walls.
Step 2 GIVE
On Gift Offering Sunday, December 14th, we will have the opportunity to participate in our BEYOND Christmas Gift Offering. Ask God at what level he is asking you to give.

Step 3 COMMIT
On Gift Offering Sunday, December 14th, we will make an 12-month
BEYOND giving commitment. In addition we will offer our time and talents to support the expansion of our locations. Your commitment will enable us to properly fund and accomplish our Beyond goals: opening Oconee Campus, upgrading our current location, creating rockin’ environments for our teens and children, and resourcing our 3 church plants.
You can conveniently give online to the BEYOND Campaign by clicking the following link

How can I share the Beyond vision with other people?
Invite them to the POUR series: December 7th through December 21st. We encourage you to refer people to this webpage when talking with other people (i.e. at work, Connection Groups, neighbors, etc.) We also encourage you to pick up a brochure at the church.

What is the plan for being one church in 3 locations?
We are in the process of securing an Oconee County facility to meet in and at the same time, we are securing a downtown location. We are also planning to renovate our current facility to enhance our Sunday experience for adults, students, and children. Our plan is to "go live" in 2009.

How will I know what to give to beyond?
Pray daily and ask God about your commitment. Use the Beyond 25 day devotional. Think through your income over the next 12 months. Set aside 10% for your weekly tithe so that our
day-to-day church operation will be unaffected and ask God what % of your income over and above your weekly tithe does He want you to commit to Beyond. He will open your heart and lead you during this process.

Will my contribution be made public?
No, absolutely not. Only the total of all commitments received will be announced.

How do I designate my ongoing commitment after commitment Sunday?
If you are giving online, you can designate your Beyond commitment when you enter your offering. When giving by check or cash, we encourage you to write a separate check for your Beyond commitment. Our offering envelopes will have an area where you can indicate what your offering is for (your regular tithe or Beyond commitment).

What about my regular tithe?
Your commitment to Beyond should be an amount God leads you to give over and above your regular tithe. By continuing our current giving levels, day-to-day church operation will be unaffected.
