WHY SPONSOR?
Every year Compass Parteners sponsor students to go to Student Life Camp, and we have seen students' lives eternally changed due, in part, to their generosity. If you would like to sponsor a student, visit our online giving page and follow the instructions on how you can give online. When you login to your online giving account, simply click the "706 Camp Scholarship" option under the "Fund" dropdown box. If you don't have an online giving account, feel free to create one for free here! If you would like to give by check, you can do that as well! Simply fill in "Student Life Scholarship" on the memo line and mail or place your check in the offering basket on Sunday.
STUDENT LIFE CAMP 2012 - AUDACIOUS
Every summer we take a group of our 706 students to Student Life Camp to experience an unbelievable week of worship, recreation, and intimacy with God. Each year we see God do unbelievable things in the lives of each and every student that attends and we are expecting no different this year! This summer we will be taking our students to Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina from June 18-22. To sign your middle or high schooler up for this incredible opportunity, you can either visit the link above or you can stop by the 706 Table on a Sunday morning. (Note: In order to sign up your student for camp online, you must first have an online giving account through Compass Church. THE 706 STUDENT MINISTRY
The 706 Student Ministry meets every Sunday, 4:30-6:30 p.m., all throughout the Athens area! We get together the first Sunday of the month at the Classic Center for a kick-off service and then follow that Sunday with events ranging from bonfires to service projects right here in our city. These Sunday afternoon gatherings are incredible time for students to share their stories, grow closer to God, and grow closer to each other! Each gathering includes a challenging message from our Student Pastor, Andy Zuniga, and time in small groups, diving into the Word of God! On the first Sunday of each month, The 706 comes together for an incredible time of worship at the Classic Center! We focus on giving glory to God because “Great is the Lord and highly to be praised.” We will see “one generation shall praise Your works to another!” as David says in Psalm 145:3-4. During 706 Elevate, we have games, songs, small groups and a message that sets up the month’s theme and propels us into outings for serving and fellowship for the rest of the month!
John the Apostle says that “If we walk in the Light as He [Jesus] is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another…” We want to have time to get to know each other, see each other face to face, and talk and hang out as people, as opposed to pews. At 706 Encounter, we are simply looking to have fun at these events while growing closer to each other and to God! 706 encounter includes game nights, bonfires, and other great activities for students and leaders alike!
Our heart at Compass Church is to serve the city around us. We seek to impact Athens for the Kingdom of Christ with everything we do, and the 706 is no exception! 706 Effect events give our students a chance to serve our city, whether it’s by serving food to the homeless, helping decorate someone’s house for Christmas, or simply buying things for people in need. We seek to follow Jesus’ example, who said Himself in Matthew 20:28, “the son of Man did not come to be served, but rather to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”

Saturday, March 3rd, 706 Garage Sale! - At old Compass warehouse (525 Calhoun Drive, Athens, GA 30601). Arrive at 6:30 AM - until. Proceeds go to Camp Scholarships. (Children's toys, playhouse, furniture, office items, production equipment and more for sale!)
March 4th, 706 ELEVATE, Kick-off: Lost and Found Month (The Classic Center)
March 11th, 706 ENCOUNTER, Video Scavenger Hunt (Address to come)
